오후의 티타임 (1837 TWG TEA)

제법 봄이 온 건지 코 끝 쌩콩한 추운 기운이 느껴지지 않네요. 꽃샘추위도 오고 오늘 오후에는 봄비도 내릴 듯 합니다.

코로나 바이러스 영향으로 저희 가족도 집에서 조용히 시간을 보내고 있답니다. 길어진 이번 방학, 남편이 직장에 가고 나면 아이와 함께 차를 마시는 시간이 생겼어요. 아직 아이는 마일로 핫초코를 마시지요.

찻잔에 함께 끓이고 저어가며 도란도란 얘기하는 시간이 얼마나 즐거운지 몰라요. 아이가 두서너살 즈음 집 앞 카페에서 따뜻하게 데운 우유 한잔에 부드러운 케이크 하나 안겨주고, 그 앞에서 뜨거운지 차가운지도 모를 차를 후루룩 마셨던 때가 엊그제 같은데 말이에요.

요즘 홍차에 관심이 생겨 책도 보고 정보도 찾고 그러고 있어요. 홍차는 정말 알면 알수록 여러가지 매력이 어마하게 많은 것 같아요.

오늘은 싱가포르 여행 때 집어 온 TWG ENGLISHBREAKFAST TEA 마셔보려고 꺼내왔습니다. 국내에서는 초록 패키징으로 눈에 띄던데 요건 블랙 패키징이네요.

 

 

망사 티백에 양도 넉넉하게 담긴 잉글리쉬브랙퍼스트.
기본이 되는 홍차지요. 어디선가 홍차라고 처음 먹어봤어도 이 맛이었을 법한 그런 전형적인 홍차의 모습이 이거 일거 같아요. 찻잔에 티백을 살포시 놓아둡니다.

 

 

끓는 물을 5초 정도 지나 찻잔에 따라 2분 정도 지난 후의 수색이에요. 아주 진하지는 않지만 딱 예쁜 홍색이네요. 찻 잎 자체의 쌉싸름한 맛을 느끼고 나니 확 찾아오는 산미가 있어요. 잉블이 이런 산미가 있는지 이제서야 알았어요.

 

 

 끓는 물소리, 홍찻잎 향, 졸졸 찻잔에 담기며 생겨나는 홍차의 멋진 수색, 그리고 향과 맛에 집중하다 보면 한두시간은 거뜬히 지나갑니다.
아직 차를 오래 마시기엔 조금 어린 아이는 이미 자리를 빠져나가 엄마 없이 혼자 놀이를 하고 있구요. (고마운 녀석..)

코로나 때문인지, 덕분인지 모를 시간들이 지나가고 있어요. 오롯이 집 안에서 가족들과 지내는 시간이 이런 즐거움을 가져다주는지 새삼 느끼는 중이랍니다.

 I can't feel the coldness at the tip of my nose, maybe spring is here. It's going to be cold and spring rain this afternoon.
Due to the Corona virus, my family is also spending time quietly at home. This extended vacation, after my husband went to work, I had time to drink tea with my lovely kid. She still drinks Milo hot chocolate.

I'm having so much fun boiling and stirring tea cups together and talking in a lot. When she was a couple of years old, in front of her was warm milk, and I drank tea urgently, whether warm or cold.

I am interested in black tea these days, so I read books and look for information. The more I get to know about black tea, the more attractive it is.

Today, I brought out the TWG ENGLISHBREAKFAST TEA from my trip to Singapore. In Korea, it stands out as green packaging, but it's black packaging.

It's the basic tea. I think this is the typical black tea that would have tasted like this even if I had it for the first time. I laid my tea bag down gently in the teacup.

I cooled the boiled water for five seconds and poured it into the teacup to heat it up for about two minutes. It's not very dark, but it's just a pretty red. After experiencing the bitter taste of the tea leaves itself, there's a taste of acid that comes to me. I just found out that it has this kind of acidity.

The sound of boiling water, the scent of red tea leaves, the wonderful search of black tea in the cups, and the aroma and taste of tea will pass you for an hour or two. My kid is already out of her seat, playing by herself without her mother.

Time is ticking, whether it's because of Corona or not. I'm beginning to realize that our time with our family at home brings our this pleasure.
